Chapel Thirteen

The church in Prague 13 is a rather different story to that of a new build on a green site. It is about moving from sublease to sublease and the reconstruction of this rental space. We accepted those restrictions as a part of the interior concept. At the same time, we deliberately avoided trying to “churchify” the premises and converted them into a place where non-believers would happily go. We were interested in a civil environment with a slightly affecting touch leading to living faith through freedom to doubt. We resisted lapsing into cheap conventions and the established ideas about the environment presented by Christians.
